U.S. Census 2000 Results

The U.S. Census Bureau released the socio-economic data from the last federal census taken on April 1, 2000, and the results posted here include poverty rates, place of birth, language spoken at home, and income in Minneapolis neighborhoods.  The initial census results for age, family relationships, and race are totaled by Hennepin County school districts as well as Minneapolis neighborhoods.

Hennepin County SF1 and SF3 "geo" files in DBF format that identify blocks and block groups by Minneapolis neighborhoodThe SF1 file has over 17000 records.  A DBF file can be opened in MS Excel or MS Access.  These records can be linked on logical record number (field "logrecno") to all other segments of their respective SF1 or SF3 releases for calculating summaries by geographic area. See page 8 of Technical Documentation for Summary File 1 for the summary level codes.
